Contemporary artist, Lisa Zaharoni, is a lifelong native of the Los Angeles area. In her grid series he deconstructs the familiar and reformulates it into abstract painting mosaics. These composite grids, made up of multiple geometric shaped micro-images merge when seen at a distance.

The resulting pixelated subject, while recognizable, can now be seen in a new abstracted way. Beautiful at first glance but on further inspection complex and layered. These intricate paintings explore how the human mind takes in and organizes visual input, often relying on clues from stored memories.

The artist plays with shifts in color and varied textures to craft a coherent whole from the sum of many parts.

Artist Statement

My paintings tell a little story. Perhaps a familiar tale with an unexpected twist. The eye of the viewer will distinguish the plot and feel the resonance. They are intended to delight and inspire, to imbue the home and workspace where they are placed with wonder and beauty.
